Measuring For Chair Cushions

Chair Cushions

Chair Cushion Thickness
As with every cushion, we require you to specify a thickness for chair cushions. Cushion thickness is a matter of preference however choosing a cushion that is too thick or thin could result in an uncomfortable seating experience. If you are unsure of the thickness to choose for your chair frame, we recommend stacking a book or two on your chair to get a rough idea of how thick your cushion should be.

NOTE: If your chair frame has arms, make sure that the cushion is not too thick as this could result in the arms being too low for the person sitting on the chair.

Chair Cushion Width
The chair cushion width is measured from side to side as shown in the image on the right.

We do not recommend measuring an existing chair cushion as the original size may have changed with use. Taking measurements from an existing cushion often results in a larger pad than is needed.

Chair Cushion Seat
The chair cushion's seat portion is measured from front to back as shown in the image on the right.
Measure SEAT from front to where back begins
Chair Cushion Back
The chair back is measured from the bottom of the back to the top of the back, or the height you would like your cushions to go up on the back of your chair.

Two-Piece CushionsWe require the size of the actual cushion itself. If you are ordering a two piece chair cushion you will need to deduct the thickness of the chair seat cushion from the overall length of the back of the chair.
